I've always enjoyed the dream-like and highly imaginative art of the surrealist movement. Many of my favorite painters were surrealists, such as René Magritte and Salvador Dali. Likewise, some of my most favorite photographers, such as Jerry Uelsmann and Bob Carlos Clarke, created excellent works of surrealist art. Surrealism in photography is especially interesting to me, because most people expect more realism in a typical photograph than in most paintings. When confronted with a surreal photograph, it can be especially challenging and intriguing for the viewer who expects photography to be a realistic documentation of the physical world.
I also enjoy creating surreal works of art myself, and this gallery is dedicated to some of my more surreal photos. Like most areas of my website, I expect this collection to continue growing.
